Volvo Lease Return Your new and used automotive financing experts

A Guide for Your Volvo Lease Vehicle Return

After enjoying your leased Volvo for two or three years, the time will come for your lease to end. You have many options at the end of your lease, any many people have questions as to which option is the best. Fortunately, Herzog-Meier Volvo has a lease-end schedule to prepare Portland car buyers for the return of their lease. Here is what you should expect.

90 Days Before

Months before the end of your lease, Beaverton drivers can start researching how to proceed. This is the perfect time to explore options for leasing another vehicle or purchasing the vehicle you are currently leasing.

Purchase: You may have become attached to the vehicle that you currently have. So, you may want to buy it rather than returning it to the dealership. In this case, you should check your agreement or contact a Volvo dealer to determine the car's buyout amount.

Start New: As your lease nears maturity, there may be incentives offered towards starting a new Volvo lease. Along with this, our dealership will usually offer extra perks that make a fresh start worthwhile. To understand how this might work for you, review the lease and purchase specials on our website and then schedule a test drive at your convenience.

60 Days Before

Part of your lease agreement is the obligation to pay for any excessive damage, which is defined as "anything more than normal wear and tear". The dealership will contact you to set up an inspection at no cost to you.

Appointment: To make the inspection more convenient for you, a representative from Volvo can arrange it at your office, home, or any place that you feel comfortable.

Repairs: Once the inspection is complete, you will receive a statement of what you should repair. It's important to schedule your appointment as early as possible, in case the inspector find repairs that are necessary. You will then have enough time to schedule the repairs with a Volvo dealer before the lease has ended. Also, remember to keep your receipts as a record of the work done.

30 Days Before

During the final month of your lease, schedule a meeting with Herzog-Meier Volvo to return the vehicle. You should set this up in advance rather than showing up unannounced. This will allow us to prepare for your visit and provide you with a smooth experience.

Location: If you leased your Volvo from Herzog-Meier it will be easiest to return it to us. If you leased your Volvo from another dealer, we still recommend returning it to Herzog-Meier Volvo because our process is quick and easy.

Return: Before bringing the vehicle in for the return, remove any personal belongings. Don't forget to grab all the keys, manuals, spare tire, or tire sealant kit that came with the car so you can return those items with the vehicle.

Completion of Lease

The last meeting to turn in your vehicle can be a bittersweet experience. You've enjoyed this vehicle for a long time, and now you have to say goodbye. Call ahead to Volvo Car Financial Services to confirm the final mileage. You can reach them at 1-866-499-6793.

Receipts: Bring in copies of your repair receipts to show you made the adjustments suggested in the inspection. Plus, remember to add your VIN and account number to every copy.

Ending Payments: If your account still has a payment remaining, you are responsible for this payment even after the vehicle is brought back. Also, within a couple weeks time you will receive an invoice for fees resulting from excess wear and use (if applicable).

As your end-of-lease plan progresses, you can contact us at any point. Our staff at Herzog-Meier Volvo is ready to answer questions and assist in any way.
